I Love You Man

The Hurt Locker

Shutter Island

The Ghost Writer

The Ghost Writer
Director: Polanski
Main Characters: Ewen McGreggor, Pierce Brosman
Rated: PG-13 (see bottom)
Category: Mystery/Thriller
Target: Everyone will like this film
Laurie's Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

This movie was awesome. It was DIFFERENT. It is a mystery/thriller and has fantastic acting from Ewin McGreggor. I REALLY like him. What I loved about this movie was that it was very serious in nature, but had glimpses of humor that came thru in Ewin's acting.
This movie resembled, to me, the Sherlock Holmes movies from back in the day. The cinematography was a bit old fashion and gloomy, which only added to the suspense.
This movie is about a man who is hired to be a Ghostwriter (McGreggor) for a company who is about to publish a Biography about a retired politician, (Brosman).
The plot becomes complicated as he uncovers bits and pieces of a scandal that has been covered up by the politician, his family, and his aquaintances.
This is a great movie. As I said, it is different, it ends...in an interesting way. But it is a WELL DONE MOVIE for sure and everyone will enjoy it.

Rated PG-13 for the use of some swear words including 1 F word (which was so subtle I didn't hear it but Corey did,) and a small segment of a woman getting in bed with a man, and a small segment with some blood when someone gets shot.
